Background Budgets are made available to wards in the form of a single, integrated pot that wards can use flexibly to help address their priorities and to develop community initiatives which benefit residents. The budgets may be used to give grants or to buy services and are considered by ward committees who make recommendations to support an officer decision.  Allocations were made for April to July 2023 specifically to fund summer schemes. In August 2023 the new ward funding arrangements were introduced with each ward budget comprising a base budget element and an amount reflecting the Index of Multiple Deprivation ranking of the ward.
